The team at Exact comprises of the most experienced and respected members in the industry with 350 years combined experience, supported by a skill base across the entire mortgage life cycle.Our impact on the market has revolutionised the mortgage services arena using advanced technology, professional skills and unrivalled experience of the UK mortgage market. To date team Exact have been participants in over 23 awards for leading technology, service, innovation, and marketing expertise.
Exact's executive team consists of Ian Lonergan, Alan Cleary and John Nixon, who were amongst the key founders of edeus. edeus was launched in September 2006, and transformed the intermediary mortgage sector with a new and groundbreaking experience, based on technology innovation and excellent service. edeus developed a great reputation for originating mortgage loans across the entire credit spectrum, originating over £2 billion in its first year of trading.
John and Alan were also part of the senior management team at HBOS and were instrumental in transforming the HBOS subsidiary BM Solutions (BM) into the UK's leading specialist lender. Meanwhile, Ian Lonergan was a key member of the GMAC-RFC senior management team during a period when the business doubled its annual origination volumes from £6 billion to £12 billion (to become the UK's second largest specialist lender behind BM).
Ian Lonergan - Chief Executive Officer
As Group CEO, Ian leads the senior team and is responsible for setting strategy, ensuring the strategic aims are met, accessing the best resources, corporate finance, risk management and setting the values and standards within which we work. Ian is the main executive managing investor and regulatory relationships.Ian was previously CFO at Edeus and was responsible for credit risk, product evaluation, corporate finance, treasury, planning and accounting functions as well as being the main executive responsible for relationships with funders and asset investors.
Prior to joining Edeus Ian led Business and Portfolio Analytics at GMAC RFC and was Corporate Strategy Manager with Henderson Global Investors through their de-merger from AMP and listing on the London Stock Exchange. Ian was also a Management Consultant with Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Practice for 6 years in both Europe and Asia Pacific regions.
Ian qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in Birmingham before transferring to Sydney as a member of Ernst & Young’s Australian Audit Practice.

Alan Cleary - Managing Director
Alan joined Exact from his previous position as Managing Director of edeus, and is responsible for the business strategy of Exact along with brand strategy, PR, products, sales and marketing.Before working at edeus Alan was Director of Halifax Intermediaries the largest intermediary brand in the UK.
Prior to this, Alan was Head of Sales at BM Solutions and was instrumental in its transformation from a regional building society with a mortgage market share of less than 1%, to the UK's premier specialist lender with a market share of over 20%, and in his time has managed teams which have originated over £50 billion worth of mortgage lending.
Alan is extensively quoted in the mortgage press and is one of the highest profile individuals within the industry.

John Nixon - Chief Operating Officer
John joined Exact from his previous edeus COO position focused on IT and Operational Strategy and has 18 years mortgage industry experience.
He has a proven track record in defining step changes in mortgage processing and servicing strategy along with IT platform delivery, at both edeus and in his previous HBOS position as BM's Director of Mortgage Operations and The Mortgage Business's Director of New Business.edeus delivered the UK's most advanced origination platform within nine months, supported by over 20 technology and service awards including; FA Online Service (5 Stars), Money Marketing e-excellence ('eee' rating); Mortgage Strategy Technology Innovator of the year; The Financial Adviser's first 5 Star Service Award for a new start lender.
In his previous HBOS position this continual focus on service excellence transformed BM Solutions from a 1 Star lender to a 5 Star lender within an 18 month period.

Sebastien Maloney - Chief Financial Officer
Sebastien is the most recent member of Exact Management team, joining as Chief Financial Officer, in January 2009.Previously, Sebastien held roles at Merrill Lynch as GSFI Vice President where he was a senior member of the mortgage trading desk responsible for deal origination, asset sales (Whole Loan & RMBS transactions), portfolio valuation, risk management, platform strategy, and special servicing.
Prior to this, Sebastien worked at GMAC-RFC as Head of Portfolio Management & Financial Planning where he was responsible for overall portfolio management and financial planning.

Philip Horsfield - Director of Legal and Compliance
Philip joined the team in May 2010 as Director of Legal and Compliance and is responsible for overseeing the Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit and Operational Risk functions at Exact and Precise Mortgages.Previously Philip worked with the Morgan Stanley Group where he was Director of Legal & Compliance for Advantage. During this time Philip also provided legal & compliance consultancy services to Morgan Stanley’s pan-European mortgage business.
Prior to this Philip spent 15 years at Derbyshire Building Society and was instrumental in the launch of ‘Salt’ and ‘Salt Commercial’. He has also held senior positions at Skipton and Halifax Building Societies. Philip is a qualified solicitor and holds an MBA.

Richard Monahan - Commercial Director
Richard leads a multidisciplinary team with a wide remit that includes assisting external clients with structured finance transactions and secondary market mortgage trading by highlighting the areas in which Exact can add value to these transactions, whether that is one-off consultancy or as a participant in an on-going deal structure.Within Exact, Richard also leads the corporate and commercial finance teams tasked with meeting the strategic financial goals of the group.
Richard has held senior finance roles at two previous specialist mortgage lenders including most recently at edeus where, as Director of Asset Management, Richard led the whole loan trading team that delivered 11 transactions of various structures to a wide range of counterparties including banks, building societies and hedge funds. Richard has an MSc in International Financial Markets and is a Chartered Management Accountant.

Chris Preston - Director of Credit
Chris joined Exact from his previous position at Edeus as Director of Credit and is responsible for the Asset Quality Assessment Service that is central to the Exact proposition.Chris has over 20 years experience in the Financial Services industry concentrated predominantly in underwriting and Credit Risk. Previously working at Lloyds, UCB, and Bristol & West, he spent over 10 years at Birmingham Midshires prior to joining edeus.
Chris developed the automated decisioning tools that were critical to edeus launching as a leader in the on-line mortgage market; achieving a Responsible Lending and risk quantified environment.
The Asset Quality Assessment (AQA) service was developed by Chris and his team using the same proven technology that has been acclaimed within the mortgage origination market.

Fliss Dale - Director of Collections & Recovery
As Director of Collections and Recovery, Fliss works closely with Credit Risk to ensure robust controls are in place throughout the whole Credit Cycle and is responsible for all aspects of Collections including 3rd party relationships, special servicing of assets and consultancy support. The focus applied to managing all aspects is one which proactively manages risk by effective and efficient collection strategies that adds maximum value and ensures compliance with all aspects of regulation.Fliss has worked within the financial services industry for 24 years, predominantly in Collections and Recovery, managing from initial arrears through to recovery including professional negligence. During this time she has also managed portfolio acquisition, portfolio assessment and migration. Her wealth of knowledge includes considerable experience of the tough economic conditions of the 1990's.
Fliss joined Exact from edeus where she was responsible for setting up the Collections operation, prior to joining edeus Fliss worked for HBOS managing the Litigation, Asset management and Recoveries areas for four brands.

Malcolm Larmouth - Head of Business Development
Malcolm Larmouth joined Exact as Head of Business Development in September 2009. Malcolm’s role focuses on identifying and securing new clients onto Exact’s Intelligent Mortgage Servicing platform, ensuring a seamless transaction and ongoing client relationship management.His previous role was Associate Director of Client Relationships at Scarborough Mortgage Services (SMS) responsible for identifying and securing new clients, ongoing contract negotiations and service reviews, developing the prime, near prime and specialist servicing capabilities of the company and liaising with the Rating Agencies and Investors of securitised portfolios. Malcolm also assisted with the purchase and onward sale of portfolios through a sister company North Yorkshire Mortgages.
Prior to this Malcolm worked for Halifax/HBOS where he held a number of senior roles including Area Business Manager, Regional Operations and Regional Service Management.
